Edit Maps

The Status Map Editor enables you to manage the nodes and paths on a map.

To access the Status Map Editor from the navigation bar, click the Events menu and select Status Map Manager to display the Status Map Manager. Click images/download/attachments/163972316/editnew-version-1-modificationdate-1693241978299-api-v2.png on the Status Map Manager.

Edit Status Maps

Perform the following steps to edit status maps.

Click the map name in the map title bar to change the map title.
Click to view the map on the Status Map Viewer.
Click to save changes.
Click to cancel changes and to display the map on the Status Map Viewer.
Click Status Map Manager to return to the Status Map Manager.
Click Change Map Image to display the Choose Map Image pop-up that enables you to select a different background image for the status map.

Status Map Nodes and Paths

Nodes are the dots on the map. Paths are the lines that connect the dots. Nodes and paths can represent the following.

Status Map
Device
Device Group/Device Type
Object (one or more)
Object Group

As you define the nodes and paths on the Status Map Editor, each node appears as a gray dot and each path appears as a gray line on the map. You must click Save Changes and then view the map on the Status Map Viewer to see what the node and the path represent and their actual status.

Manage Nodes

You associate each node on a status map to another status map, a device, a device group/device type, one or more objects, or an object group.

Right-click anywhere on the map and select Add Node or right-click on an existing node and select Edit Node to display the Node/Path Editor pop-up. After you define the node you can drag it to where you want the node to appear on the map.
On the Node/Path Editor pop-up, in the Name field, enter the name of the node.
Click the Type drop-down.
- Select None to put a dot on the map that has no association.
- Select Status Map to link the node to another status map. Click the Status Map drop-down and select a different status map to which to link the current status map.
- Select Device. From the drop-down list of devices, select a device and click Add Device button to include the selected device for the node to represent. One or more devices can be added to the selected node.
- Select Device Group, then click the Device Group drop-down and select the device group/device type for the node to represent.
- Select Object to link the node to one or more objects.
  1. Click the Device drop-down and select the device that contains the object.
  2. Click the Object drop-down and select the object for the node to represent.
  3. Click Add Object to add the object to the list.
  4. Repeat to add additional objects.
- Select Object Group, then click the Object Group drop-down and select the object group for the node to represent.
Click the Report drop-down and select a report. This links the node to a report (saved to the Report Manager) which enables you to access a report from the map.
Click Submit to display the node on the Status Map Editor.
Drag the node to the location on the map image where you want the node to appear.
Right-click on a node and select Delete Node to remove a node from the map.
Click to save the edits.

Manage Paths

You associate each path on a status map to another status map, a device, a device group, one or more objects, or an object group.

Click a node, then right-click a second node and select Add Path to display a path line between the nodes.
Right-click on the path and select Edit Path to display the Node/Path Editor pop-up.
On the Node/Path Editor pop-up, click the Type drop-down.
- Select None to create a path between nodes that has no association.
- Select Status Map to link the path to another status map. Click the Status Map drop-down and select a different status map to which to link the current map.
- Select Device, then click the Device drop-down and select the device for the path to represent.
- Select Device Group, then click the Device Group drop-down and select the device group/device type for the path to represent.
- Select Object to link the path to one or more objects.
  1. Click the Device drop-down and select the device that contains the object.
  2. Click the Object drop-down and select the object for the path to represent.
  3. Click Add Object to add the object to the list.
  4. Repeat to add additional objects.
- Select Object Group, then click the Object Group drop-down and select the object group for the path to represent.
Click the Report drop-down and select a report. This links the path to a report (saved to the Report Manager) which enables you to access a report from the map.
Click Submit to display the path on the Status Map Editor.
Right-click on a path and select Delete Path to remove a path from the map.
Click to save the edits.
Click to display the map and the status of each node and path on the Status Map Viewer.
